History and Creative Journey
The Creative Arts (TCA), established in 2002 has been providing comprehensive, systematic and certified training in Theatre to children and adults. The Institute uses various forms of Art to enrich the participants’ imagination and facilitate creative expression. TCA explores different genres of Theatre like proscenium, site-specific, theatre science, studio theatre and more, focusing on the conceptualisation, development, writing and producing of original plays for adults and children, which fosters independent creative thinking.
Over a span of more than two decades, TCA has evolved as a holistic centre where one can learn, teach, create, rehearse and perform. Taking the multi-disciplinary learning approach forward, TCA launched its Arts Academy, TCAA in 2020, introducing full-fledged courses in Theatre, Music, Dance, Creative Writing, Communication, Arts Management and Integrated Arts Therapy. These departments are headed by eminent mentors who are nationally and internationally renowned in their fields.
TCAA has its own fully-equipped space, with three studio theatres, green rooms and café, in Kolkata. The dream is to create a dynamic hub nurturing long term learning, where individual potential will merge with collective expression, and artists will engage and interact, a community driven space which provides opportunities to every individual.
